Provider Code of Conduct

• Keep your qualifications and registration current: RCI for psychologists where required, NMC or a State Medical Council for psychiatrists.
• Show your registration details to clients and on prescriptions.
• Practise only within your training and scope.

• Treat every client with dignity, whatever their background, identity or beliefs.
• Keep professional boundaries; no personal or romantic relationships with clients.
• Assess risk and follow safety procedures when a client may be at risk of harm.
• Refer clients onwards when their needs are beyond your scope.

• Keep all client information confidential, sharing it only with consent, when the law requires it, or to prevent serious harm.
• Hold sessions from a private space.
• Keep all client communication and payments on OpenAccess.
• If you use AI writing assistance for notes, review every note and remain responsible for it.

Keep accurate, timely notes. Psychiatrists must follow our Prescription Policy and the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020.

We investigate every concern. Serious breaches can lead to suspension or removal from OpenAccess, and we may report them to the relevant professional council.
