OpenAccess policies

Medical Disclaimer

What OpenAccess can and cannot do for your health.

Effective 29 September 2026

1. In an emergency

OpenAccess is not an emergency service.

If you or someone else is in danger or thinking about suicide, contact emergency help now:

  • US Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text): 988
  • US emergency services: 911
  • Elsewhere: your local emergency number.

2. Care comes from your Provider

OpenAccess connects you with independent, qualified professionals. The advice and treatment you receive come from your Provider, who is responsible for it. OpenAccess itself does not give medical advice.

3. Assessments are screening tools

  • Check-ins such as PHQ-9 and GAD-7 help you and your Provider understand how you are feeling.
  • A result is not a diagnosis. Only a qualified professional can diagnose a condition.
  • Scores can change from day to day. If something feels wrong, talk to a professional whatever your score.

4. Information on the Platform

Articles, self-help content and programmes are for general information and wellbeing. They are not a substitute for professional care.

5. Online care has limits

Some conditions need in-person assessment or care. Your Provider will tell you if online sessions are not right for you and help you find the right next step.
